Qualifications and Education Requirements

Should be a Post - Graduate from a reputed college or University

Preferred Skills :

- In-depth knowledge of marketing and sales operations and processes

- Hands on experience with analyzing big data and making forecasts

- Analytical and critical thinker

- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills

- Must have handled 5cr monthly sale

Duties & Responsibilities :

- The candidate will be the one responsible for the pricing and overall promotion of a product category to maximize consumer appeal.

- Relationships with marketplaces and product range management will also be part of duties.

- An excellent category manager must have extensive experience in understanding consumer needs and the retail environment.

- They must have a commercial mindset and full comprehension of marketing and sales principles. Exceptional communication skills are also key for category managers.

- Research and analyze data and market insights

- Search for insights into consumer needs and wants

- Plan and implement long-term development strategies for product categories

- Design exit strategies for unsuccessful products

- Build and maintain long-term relationships with marketplaces

- Place appropriate orders to the warehouse and stock movement team

- Ensure product availability

- Strategize positioning of a product category in order to maximize its visibility

- Will be responsible for product merchandising on all portals

- Collaborate with the marketing team

- Research competitors and suggest appropriate pricing and promotional activities

- Work with customers and merchandisers and find new ways of expanding product categories

- Optimising the user experience to continue to improve dwell time-on-site and bag/ basket completion

- Working with Site Analytics to identify what works online and what not

- Establishing an ongoing and weekly agenda of site improvements that need to be addressed with clear recommendations as to requirements
