JOB DESCRIPTION :

We are looking for an experienced individual with experience in merchandising to lead Sourcing function of a new luxury home goods brand. You will manage a complete life cycle starting from defining product lines, cataloging, order management and order delivery to shipping hub.

SKILLS :

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Marketing or related field.

- Having at least 4 years experience in buying, merchandising and sourcing.

- Proven working experience in merchandising and buying of product lines related to home furnishing, dining and home decor.

- Good knowledge of buying houses and sourcing bases in India.

- Experience in Market research keeping a track of competitor's activities to understand market trends.

- Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising campaigns that engage, inform and motivate.

- Up-to-date with the latest merchandising trends and best practices.

- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

- Strong listening, presentation and decision making skills.

- Commercial acumen and the ability to - decode- customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

- Understand target audience in varied geographies, define product lines applicable to TA

- Identify suppliers and buying houses for procurement of product lines

- Collaborate with buyers, suppliers, distributors and analysts to negotiate prices, quantities and time-scales.

- Plan and develop merchandising strategy

- Own procurement plan and schedule in strict time frames.

- Analyzing sales figures, customers reactions and market trends to anticipate product needs.

- Forecast profits/sales and plan budgets.

- Monitor stock movement and consider markdowns, promotions, price changes, clear outs etc.

- Lead catalog building activities including coordinating photography and content creation

- Contacting suppliers, obtaining and evaluating quotations, info record maintenance, placing orders.

- Ensuring high quality of bought-in goods and reduce lead times.

- Continuous development of new products, new suppliers to enhance existing product base.

- Ensure timely delivery of orders and samples by vendors.

- Creating product presentation, packaging, product development & develop promotional plans.

- Identify and plan for optimum range with the accountability of pricing and cost negotiations.

- Remain up to date with industry's best practices ensure effective communication and relationship development with cross functional teams, internal departments, developing continuous improvement strategies to ensure a structured supply chain is maintained
