Trainer - Field Sales (6-10 yrs)
Job Overview :
Seeking a dynamic and experienced On-the-Job Field Sales Trainer to enhance our sales team's performance and success. This role involves providing real-time, hands-on training to sales force in the field, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills, product knowledge, and confidence to excel in their roles. The ideal candidate will be a natural mentor with a passion for sales, adept at identifying skill gaps and delivering impactful training that aligns with business goals.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Field Training & Mentorship
- Conduct on-the-job training sessions for new and existing sales representatives, guiding them through live customer interactions.
- Mentor and coach sales reps during field visits, helping them refine techniques, handle objections, and close sales.
- Lead role-playing exercises, mock pitches, and customer interaction simulations.
2. Performance Assessment
- Observe and evaluate sales representatives' performance during client visits to identify strengths and areas for improvement.
- Provide real-time feedback and follow-up coaching sessions to ensure continuous improvement and goal alignment.
- Track individual and team performance metrics to monitor training impact and report to management.
3. Training Program Development
- Design and implement customized sales training programs that cover product knowledge, sales processes, customer relationship management, and negotiation skills.
- Develop relevant materials, presentations, and handouts to support training sessions and reinforce learning.
4. Product Knowledge & Industry Updates
- Ensure all sales managers are up-to-date on product specifications, features, and competitive positioning.
- Conduct periodic briefings on industry trends and changes in market dynamics to keep the team informed.
5. Sales Strategy Implementation
- Work with the sales management team to implement sales strategies in the field and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
- Identify and address common barriers to sales, recommending strategies to overcome objections and close deals effectively.
6. Motivation & Team Building
- Foster a culture of motivation and resilience, encouraging sales reps to meet and exceed targets.
- Organize team-building activities and incentives to keep morale high and promote a cohesive team environment.
Requirements :
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- Experience: 6-10 years in sales, with at least 4 years in a sales training or coaching role. Experience in field sales preferred.
- Preferred Industry Exposure : Sales and/or Training exposure in Real Estate, Automotive Sales (Commercial or Luxury),Heavy Machinery & Industrial Equipment, IT Solutions & Software Services, Financial Services & Investment Advisory, Hospitality & Commercial Leasing, Renewable Energy & Power Solutions, Education & Training Services (Corporate Tie-ups) and Healthcare & Medical Equipment
Skills :
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong understanding of the sales process and best practices in field sales.
- Ability to analyze performance data and tailor training accordingly.
- High adaptability, able to handle diverse personalities and learning styles.
- Proficiency in CRM and sales management software.
