Shooting Stars Foundation is a NGO focused on education with the belief that we can break the cycle of poverty through education one student at time! We have powerful stories where the volunteers and community members work together to create opportunities and improve the quality of life of deserving students. We focus on giving leadership skills and training to youth volunteers who design fundraising programs, raise funds, and create opportunities to educate underprivileged college students around the world.

Currently we educate 500 scholars in India and Kenya of STEM / Engineering / Medicine / Finance. We have a distinctive confidence building / mentorship program that focuses on a holistic approach for the betterment of a student's life rather than just helping financially.

Position Title : Content Writer - Education Based Non Profit

Full Time / Online

6+ years experience

Salary - 25-30K

Responsibilities:
 
- Content Writing for Donor Based Activities

- MailChimp Formatted Letters to Donors every 6 months

- Work with Scholars to get the content for the letters

- Several Donor Engagement communication through the year

- Content Writing for Reports

- Quarterly Newsletters / Annua Reports

- Grant Based Writing - Concept Notes / Grant Applications

- Activity / Fund Usage reports to Corps and Foundations

Content Writing for Social Media/ Web

- Content for Social Media / Linked In Posts

- Content for website updates

- Be pro-active and institute new initiatives / projects / processes / systems and oversee end to end

Requirements : 

- 6+ years content writing experience in similar NGO with similar operational goals

- Or 6+ years in Tech or other fields with excellent content writing experience- and now willing to switch to NGO

- Passion for community service, especially in the field of education

- Degree holder - English / Journalism / Social Work

- Excellent project management skills, very detailed oriented, push to close attitude

- Excellent English language skills - both written and spoken - proficient in other languages in India is an advantage

- Good communication skills to maintain relationships with members of the organization and respond to their requests regularly.

- Working knowledge of Google Drive / Excel / Word / Email etc

- Own a laptop or system at home with internet connection - Online work / Telephone work etc

- Home based is ok - if above qualifications are met

- At least 6 hours a week to interact with USA counterparts - Timings to match (evening or morning hours)
