Senior Editor - Publishing House (5-20 yrs)
Job Description for the position of Editor
Editors:
Editors, for Fiction and Non- Fiction, with experience of working at traditional publishing houses and journalists with editing backgrounds are preferred
1.Solicits, acquires and edits books for publication.
2. Ensuring a variety of titles are scheduled and edited in accordance with divisional critical path and budget.
3. To manage titles from handover of manuscript through to production
4.To ensure there is good communication between all design, production and editorial teams
5.Driving the day-to-day project development
6.Responsible for all freelancers
Work Experience Required:
- Minimum 5-6 years of editing experience at a trade publisher
Skill Required:
- Excellent command of English language and excellent editing proofreading and writing skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Should have desk- editing experience in publishing environment
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate with authors and agents
