Rupa Publications - Copy Editor (1-5 yrs)
1. Copy-edits, proofs and prepares for publication, all the way up to printers proofs, approx. 15 original titles a year.
2. Liaising with publishing editors, writers and other clients.
3. Marking copy with standard proofreading marks to notify writers and editors of necessary changes.
4. Adding/deleting words, phrases or sentences to improve the reading of a text.
5. Checking facts and statistics to ensure the text is accurate and correct.
6. Making stylistic suggestions.
7. Re-wording/re-working sentences or whole sections of text.
8. Writes blurbs and assists relevant commissioning editor with the preparation of front matter and end matter to the above titles.
