Job Description for Business Development & Growth Manager

At The Rolling Circle, Business Development & Growth Manager specializes in developing new accounts and increasing the business of existing accounts. Identifies prospects- technology, advertising, marketing communications, and business issues and matches these with agency capabilities and ideas. Develops strategies and tactics for pursuing selected prospects. Participates in sales presentations, negotiations, and sales closings.

As a Business Development & Growth Manager, you will:

- Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of clients by following a sound sales process, developing relationships and cross-selling all our Creative segments

- Generate a high number of new & repeat orders by calling clients to ask for business and delivering fanatical customer service as we learn how we can help them

- Actively participate and network with professionals within the design & technology community to stay on top of industry trends and share your knowledge

- Respond with remarkable speed and quality to incoming client requests while working hard to proactively find work for our talent on an ongoing basis

- Be an incredible team player who works hard to help our team, our talent, and our clients as we all get smarter and grow, grow, grow!

KPIs and Day-to-day Activities

- Identifies trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements; tracking individual contributors and their accomplishments.

- Locates or proposes potential business deals by contacting potential partners; discovering and exploring opportunities.

- Screens potential business deals by analysing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities; recommending equity investments.

- Develops negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of new venture with company strategies and operations; examining risks and potentials; estimating partners' needs and goals.

- Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations.

- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.

- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

- Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Key Skills

Business Development and Growth Managers need the confidence to interact with both existing and potential clients and make presentations. They should have no qualms about working under pressure. They must have excellent written & verbal communication skills, presentation and strong inter-personal skills, allied with the ability to negotiate and sell products.

They should be naturally well organised because they are likely to have to manage a complicated database, keep scouting for new business opportunities and follow-up to close on deals etc., ensuring that none of these responsibilities are neglected, and work to meet deadlines.

They need to be good with financial data as they will have to regularly report on the status of client accounts. People management skills are a necessity.

- General Sales Skills: Prospecting, Lead Generation, Appointment Setting, Sales Planning, Selling to Customer Needs, Closing;

- Experience in working with senior level executives across an organization;

- Minimum 2 years business development/sales experience;

- Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and other management and database tools

- Territory Management

- Ability to analyse data and make recommendations from insights;

- Advanced analytical capabilities;

- Strong communication skills;

- Established presentation skills;

- Willingness/ability to travel required, both local and outstation

- Experience with financial analysis and the ability to assess the prospective profitability of programs

- Ability to negotiate terms of partnership agreements
