Regional Business Development Manager (Field Sales)

Looking for business development / field sales managers for a funded healthcare education technology startup. You will set up and manage a regional sales team that will be the face of the company to thousands of young doctors and students across the country. You will also evaluate performance and find new opportunities for growth and business development.

The ideal candidate is an existing field sales manager with 2 yrs team management experience and 4-6 yrs overall experience. Previous experience with higher education or education technology products is preferred.

Role description

Responsibilities:

- Sales strategy: Own the sales strategy and targets for your region, making continuous improvements based on performance

- Execution: Execute the field sales plan and manage all day-to-day requirements of field sales team including hiring, training, travel & logistics

- Events: Evaluate events suitable for participation, negotiate with event organizers for deliverables and ensure all event objectives are met

- Marketing: Ensure availability of marketing collateral across all locations

- Lead collection: Ensure proper collection and handling of generated leads by your reportees

- Lead management: Manage lead followup and lifecycle, ensure lead tracking and conversion maximization

- Reporting: Generate weekly & monthly reports of sales performance for your region

- Remuneration: Manage incentive programmes to reward & motivate sales team members in your region

- Opportunities: Explore new avenues of creating awareness & conversion and run regular experiments

- Team relationship: Assist other team members and company in jointly achieving revenue targets and running awareness campaigns

This is a challenging role that involves close interaction with field sales executives and management team. Estimated travel is 25-50% of month.

Desired skill sets

- MBA preferred, but education no bar

- Comfortable with travel in your region and to other parts of the country

- (preferred) experience with managing distributed teams across locations

- Ability take ownership, work independently and closely with senior stakeholders

- Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills

- Experience with making reports and presentations to management

- (preferred) Multi-cultural / can speak multiple languages

Other info

Attractive industry standard salary + incentives

Base locations: North West (Delhi or Mumbai), North East (Kolkata), South West (Bangalore). However, base location is not a constraint as the role involves managing a distributed team across the region.

Note: This role involves extensive travel across the city, state and country.

CTC :

Fixed: 7L - 10L

PLP: 2L - 4L (indicative)
