Reach To Teach is an education charity committed to improving the quality of teaching and learning outcomes in Government primary schools in India. Reach to Teach works in partnership with state governments and other organisations to bring about systemic changes in education and to improve the quality of teaching and learning outcomes amongst children with an emphasis on foundational learning and numeracy, higher order thinking skills and the use of technology.

The guiding principle underpinning all its programmes is that the whole education system and all roles within it should be considered from the perspective of how they can optimally support the learning needs, and overcome the learning challenges, of children. Purpose:

Reach to Teach is looking for an energetic, dedicated and detail-oriented communications intern. A multi-tasker who is a team-player with an entrepreneurial spirit. Has the willingness to learn and assist with communications tasks including, but not limited to: writing and editing, photo and video production and editing, social media content, web and social media analytics, graphic design, media relations, digital asset management, event coordination and other communications and administrative support tasks as assigned.

The position will report to the Senior Manager - Communications.

The intern will support the communications team with the following tasks but not limited to:

Social Media:

- Draft and organize social media content for Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and other suitable platforms.

- Contribute to social media quantitative and qualitative analytics reporting.

- Monitor and research influencers, trending topics and tools.

- Source content from other verticals in the organisation.

- General social media planning, research, reporting and coordination as assigned.

Writing and Editing:

- Corporate bios and brochures

- Photo-video captions

- Coordinate Blogs

- Project descriptions

- Copyediting

- Press releases and media outreach documents.

Photo, Video and Graphics:

- Edit and format photos and videos for social media and web.

- Photo, video and audio editing

- Basic photography and videography

- Infographics

- Basic gifs, animations and graphics

- Digital asset management

Media Relations:

- Help compile and update media contact lists.

- Prepare media reports on assigned subjects.

- Assist with press release/media advisory writing, editing, distribution, and media outreach.

- Assist with media interview scheduling and coordination.

- Assist with scheduling and coordinating of photo/video shoots.

Miscellaneous Communications and Administrative Support:

- Taking notes during meetings

- Create and manage PowerPoint presentations.

- Report preparation for meetings and presentations

- Event planning and coordination

- General administrative and communications support as assigned.

Experience and Competencies

- Qualification: Graduate in journalism, communications, public relations, marketing, digital filmmaking, digital media, graphic design or a development-related field.

- Self-motivate, team player with the ability to meet deadlines, remain flexible, and adjust to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

- A demonstrable interest and passion for learning more about the charitable sector and fundraising in particular;

- Able to articulate and communicatewellto all stakeholders(both verbally and in writing)in a manner that meets thediverse needsof different audiences.

- Able to use creativity to generate exciting and engaging content.
