Meesho - Category Manager (2-7 yrs)

Meesho is creating the next big e-commerce distribution channel via homepreneurs selling on WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram. Meesho's network is 20,000+ homepreneurs strong across 150+ cities in India. Meesho is a Y Combinator S16 startup and Series A funded by top VC in India.

We are looking for dynamic, open minded self-starters who enjoy Business Management roles and would like to build a Category in an extremely fast growing e-commerce company.

About the Role :

- Category Growth: Should have a view of and drive towards growing the category keeping in mind the consumer and competition.

- Selection: Responsible for Open to buy management, assortment planning, option plans pre-season as well as in season to ensure that the Category is well represented

- Trend Spotting: Should be able to identify broader trends and fill category gaps

- Cross Functional Capabilities: Should be able to fruitfully coordinate with marketing, supply chain, cataloging, finance / commercial and other functions of the organization.

- Supervision and Monitoring of Operations: Should have prior experience or enough knowledge & confidence to mentor / supervise merchandising operations. Inbound planning, Cataloging monitoring & Discount monitoring etc should be managed.

- PnL: Responsible for 300 - 500 Cr of annual business. The Category manager would be responsible for the revenue targets as well as the gross margins hovering across - 30 brands.

- Marketing promotions: Should drive visibility plans, promotion plans and coordinate the same between the internal marketing teams and that of the brands

What we look for :

- MBA/B. Tech. from a premier institute

- 2-5 yrs of relevant work experience (fashion industry preferred)

- Startup Cultural Fit: willingness to learn, to innovate, to take initiative, to think beyond conventional dogma, ability to work in a flat organisation.

- Ability to lead: this is a role that requires leading a team

- Previous operations experience

- Proven track record of finding innovative solutions to business problems
