A content writer is expected to understand how the major search engines work and what people are searching for when they visit particular websites.
Job Description :
1. Develop original content to clearly and effectively communicate ideas
2. Conduct extensive research to present the content in a well formatted manner
3. Write articles for both internal (on-site) and external (SEO) use and edit content for correct spelling and grammar
4. Ensure all content is on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality and tone of voice, and optimized for search and user experience for all channels of content including online, social media, email, mobile, and in-person
5. Follow industry-related news and generate ideas around trending topics
6. Meet assigned deadlines consistently
7. Great research, organizational, and learning skills
Prerequisites for the Role :
- Excellent overall writing skills in a number of different styles/tones
- Impeccable spelling and grammar
- A deep understanding of consumers and what motivates them online
- High comprehension of software like Microsoft Word and Google Docs would be preferred
- Familiarity with keyword placement and other SEO best practices
- Some experience with online marketing
- An understanding of formatting articles on the web
- The ability to take complex information and turn it into easy-to-understand copy is an essential aspect of any project.
