Job roles and responsibilities :

The role of a Business Development Manager is to assist the organisation's sales and growth efforts by contributing to new customer acquisition. He/she should be able to provide ideas to attract new clients and keep the senior management updated about marketplace and competitor activity. The primary role and responsibilities of a Business Development Manager include:

1. Identification of new opportunities and markets for the services and products through market knowledge, relationships and through targeted marketing campaigns, events and direct calling initiatives.

2. Preparation and delivery of presentations and solution proposals and the active management of the full sales cycle.

3. Contract negotiation covering license software, consulting services, fixed price applications development/Implementation and managed services contracts.

4. Build contacts with potential clients to create new business opportunities

5. Keep prospective client database updated

6. Maintain knowledge of all product and service offerings of the company

7. Arrange meetings for senior management with prospective clients

8. Follow company guidelines and procedures for acquisition of customers, submission of tenders etc.

Competencies and Skills Required :

1. 03-06 years- experience in the IT industry selling Enterprise solutions is must.

2. Experience of business development/sales processes, including the use of pilots, pre-sales, demonstrations and implementations

3. A demonstrable understanding of the software development life cycle from envisioning to solution implementation to managed services.

4. A clear and demonstrable track record of sales with achievement of targets

5. Excellent English language written and verbal communication

6. Must have good negotiation skills and presentation skills

7. Must be detail oriented and an active listener with an ability to work under pressure

8. Ambitious, confident, enthusiastic individual with a - can-do- attitude
