Job Description


- Responsible for managing the operational aspects of web marketing, ensuring that efficient processes and training is in place so that content and services on our company websites and channels is kept updated, delivering a positive customer experience. Using their detailed knowledge of the capabilities of the tools used to manage the platform, they collaborate with other teams such as editorial and sales, and external vendors to innovate and improve the customer experience.

- Work with peers in management team and develop team members to contribute to a high-performance marketing culture, focussing on achieving required results by managing resources effectively, and making recommendations for action or change to senior managers as required.

Key Accountabilities:

- A key representative of the business on in-house projects, on user groups and with external suppliers to ensure our online platform and websites meet the needs of our customers.

- Drive continuous improvement to processes, systems and tools that team members and the wider department use to create and promote online content on our websites, ensuring content is well managed.

- Develop and implement strategy to increase marketing outreach and discoverability for societies, professionals and corporate customer vertical.

- Manage provision of resources and expertise within the team around planning campaigns, coordinating tests and pilots, reporting back on outcomes and making recommendations to peers and senior management around best practice.

- Identify opportunities by inferring data from Google Analytics and other analytics tool to drive marketing campaigns.

- Maintain and develop an awareness of external issues and market developments, including competitor activities, needs of customers, advances in technology, and professional and academic trends, and share findings with the business and team.

- Lead, performance manage and monitor the team, fostering a culture of high-level performance, motivation, quality, efficiency and innovation in the team, helping to encourage new ideas and constructive feedback

- Produce reports and make recommendations to senior management for improvements to team and departmental objectives Knowledge and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

- A proven record in online marketing at management level

- Experience of working with content management systems and delivering online content

- A proven ability to deliver to schedule whilst meeting requirements and standards of quality

- Good understanding of relevant legislation and industry best practice

- Demonstrable customer and commercial awareness - including the competitive environment, potential partner organizations and market trends.

Skills and Behaviors Required

- Strategic: able to translate the needs of customers and deliver the required outcomes via the online platforms/websites.

- Technical:

- Creating and managing email campaigns using email marketing tools such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud or Mail Chimp

- Social Media Marketing: Managing and growing YouTube, Facebook and Twitter communities using content marketing tools

- Creating and managing Amazon Marketing Services campaigns

- Communication: Able to communicate at all levels, both internally and externally, with both expert staff and non-expert colleagues

- Management: Ability to motivate staff to deliver to schedule and quality standards. Delegates effectively. Excellent time management skills; meets deadlines

- Accountability: Used to working within a compliance framework

- Innovation: A critical and creative thinker, who seeks opportunities to deliver improvements.
