Description for the Business Development Manager:

1. Acquiring new business & following the complete sales cycle - prospecting, generating leads, meetings, requirement gathering, business proposal, negotiation, related documentation & closure of lead.

2. Commercial awareness

4. Identify each potential customer's needs

5. Formulate business proposals according to customers- business needs

6. Adaptability & Creativity

7. Attending conferences / exhibitions / seminars.

8. Traveling for client meetings (national / international)

9. Presentations, pre-sales costing and negotiations

10. Single point of contact for the complete sales cycle for the customer and partners

11. Post sales relationship management with the customer

12. Working closely with the product team to give them feedback from the market and future requirements and enhancements in the products.

13. Maintaining knowledge base of the industry

14. Target based sales and revenue generation.

15. Working to finalize the strategy for sales

16. Good teamwork Communication skills

17. Negotiate prices and variations in prices and specifications

18. Develop new opportunities and close existing ones

19. Develop detailed territory plans

20. Ensure appropriate and timely delivery of service and products

21. Follow up on service and / or product once the delivery has been made

22. Research market trends and products

23. Arrange meetings with potential clients

24. Challenge objections in order to get the customer to buy a product

25. Check quantity and quality of products prior to delivery

26. Record sales & marketing information and maintain customers- records

27. Make rapid calculations of costs in order to provide temporary quotations

28. Prepare sales & marketing reports by analyzing and summarizing information

29. Review self-sales performance with a view to improve it

Education and Experience

- Required business or marketing-related degree or equivalent professional qualification like MBA/PGDBM etc

- Experience of working with E-learning/IT software sales or Hospitality Industry sales.

- Relevant product and industry knowledge.

- Should be target oriented.

- Should be able to give presentations & can do negotiations.

- Should have knowledge of lead generation through various channels.
