5. Business Head

Business Head's tasks involve managing a team whose brings business by getting more clients. Business heads are very important for the success of a business and its ability to gain market share. Business heads also play a significant role in strategy and how the business is run. They engage with all the senior stakeholders and keep them in the loop regarding any developments. Business heads need to be able to multi-task, have good decision-making abilities as the ability to evaluate and think through things is very important.

- Plan, prepare and get approval for the Budget of the assigned business unit.

- Lead implementation of the Business Plan, including reviewing progress against the plan and set appropriate targets to the team.

- Ensure ROI for the investments made by the stakeholders

- Understands the business trends and prepared for financial planning and forecasts.

- Must be able to lead the business and downside risks involved

- Generating and assessing new business opportunities for development

- Setting sales goals and evaluating it every month

- Efficiently work on Cost Effectiveness of the team

- Make analysis for the business growth of the unit designated.

- Understand and implement various business proposals

- Seeks to develop relationships with possible business partners or vendors.

- Implements improved processes and management methods to generate higher ROI and workflow optimization

- Engaging competitors and reviewing employer's offering in the light of competitors- products

- Provide overall direction and guidance to the operational activities of the business unit with the objective of maximizing growth and profitability.

- Taking a proactive role in the devising and further development of future strategic objectives and bringing them to the CEO for input, discussion and decision.

- Overseeing functional activities, facilities and resolve issues through effective problem solving and communication skills.

- Ensuring that strong strategic and planning processes are in place to produce effective delivery.

- Developing and maintaining effective strategic relationships with customers

- Assures the products and services are consistently presented in strong, positive image to the end customer

- Developing a good working relationship with the local team to position company as a well-known and credible brand throughout the industry.

- Work with Brand team to create go to market strategies for store enhancements

- Manage a calendar of events and ensure proper alignment of retail schedule with marketing, editorial, and communications teams

- Promoting or developing the company's brand and building awareness about it with customers

- Managing relationships with clients, stakeholders, and influencers

- Business Heads must also be sure that the company is operating within legal guidelines and in compliance with federal, state and local regulations.

- Building a team and ensuring the recruitment of appropriately skilled staff to positions, and establishing appropriate remuneration levels and performance based conditions for staff within the framework agreed to by CEO.

- Train, develop the staff personnel, track time sheets and ensure support for them to grow with the business

- Strong analytical skills & problem-solving attitude

- Take initiatives and show enthusiasm at work

- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

- Language knowledge in English (Kannada / Hindi desirable)

- Strong negotiation skills

- 10 - 12 yrs of experience in Heading a Unit or Store

- Graduation and PGDM/MBA in Marketing from a premier institute

- MS Office, Basic and related business management softwares
