Jaypore - Buyer/Category Manager (8-10 yrs)

Overview : 

Buyer is responsible for planning, selecting and purchasing quantities of apparel and merchandise that are sold on company website. They source new and review existing goods to ensure their products remain competitive.

Role & Responsibility : 

- Liaising with existing suppliers and negotiating contracts.

- Sourcing and building relations with new suppliers and manage agreements

- Coordinate with vendors for the product finalization in line with the vision of the company. Sourcing and selecting new products

- Monitoring market changes, competitor prices and products. Attend trade events/exhibitions.

- Finalize on the pricing bracket, SKU, for each category

- Ensure the Budgeted v/s Actual are maintained at category level

- Analyzing past sales patterns to anticipate trends in consumer buying pattern

- Recommending clearance sales and varying delivery schedules to help control stock levels

- Collaborate with marketing and visual merchandising team to represent and support the product sale

Desired Candidate Profile:

- Strong Buying and Merchandising experience at a senior level within a retail environment, with a good track record of success

- The ability to communicate confidently at all levels and across many functions internally and externally

- Experience and knowledge of leading a team, including the natural ability to motivate, coach & mentor staff to maximize results

- Problem solving, analyzing and presenting data.

- Understanding of business operations and systems

- Devise and deliver strategies to maximize business potential.

- Maintain, control and deliver results within budget.

- Excellent attention to detail.

- Use a systematic approach to planning and prioritizing activities.

- Builds positive customer relationships and puts their needs first.

- Responds positively to change and drives change through others.

- Track record in achieving targets in a fast-moving, results-driven culture.
