Institute Of Management Studies - Academic Counselor - PGDM (1-3 yrs)
- We are looking for an enthusiastic Academic Counselor to support students in their academic journey at IMS Institute, Noida .The ideal candidate will play a vital role in understanding students' goals, providing guidance, and ensuring informed decisions regarding their education and future career paths.
Responsibilities :
- Conduct personalized,one-on-one counselling sessions with students to comprehend their academic objectives, interests, and challenges.
- Provide detailed information about IMS Institute's graduate and undergraduate courses, along with various career pathways and converting into admissions.
- Collaborate with students to create individualized academic plans aligned with their goals and aspirations.
- Stay informed about current educational trends, industry requirements and admission processes to offer accurate and relevant information.
- Work closely with academic departments to stay updated on course offerings, prerequisites, and any curriculum changes.
- Assist students in the college or university application process providing guidance on requirements, deadlines and available scholarships.
- Organize and conduct workshops, seminars and information sessions to address common academic and career-related concerns among students.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of counselling sessions and student interactions.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to identify and address academic and personal challenges faced by students.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress ,intervening as needed to ensure academic success.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors or Masters
- Proven experience(1-3 years) in academic counselling or a related field.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of educational programs, career paths and admission processes.
- Ability to empathize and connect with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Familiarity with counselling techniques and resources.
- Computer proficiency , including experience with counselling software and databases.
