Greenlight Planet - Associate - Business Development (0-3 yrs)

Role Summary: Conduct extensive research in identifying suitable partners from financial services and emerging sectors in Eastern India, assist in managing business development opportunities.

Key responsibilities:

- Actively researching and understanding the potential industries of Eastern India for business partnership.

- Identifying and engaging suitably with potential downstream partners such as Common Service Centres (CSC), Rural Retail, NGOS, Agri-input, Farmer Producer Organizations, Federations, NGOs, Microfinance Institutions, RRBs, Cooperative Banks, Commercial Banks etc.

- Understanding the nuanced operations and priorities of the above mentioned organizations to effectively pitch the value of adding a business line centered on Greenlight's Sun King branded product range of solar home energy solutions to their core businesses.

- Assist in managing business development opportunities through prospecting and acquisition stages including: designing relevant partnership models to align with downstream partners- strategic priorities, crafting commercial and operational service models to enable scale and establishing new internal processes to serve consumers.

- Transitioning newly established partnerships to Greenlight's Account Management and Operations teams for ongoing sales and service.

- Identifying new avenues and ideas for lead generation, including relevant conferences, workshops; Roundtables; developing relationships with other key stakeholders such as IFC, World Bank, Industry Associations and business meets; and representing Greenlight Planet.

- Meeting aggressive sales and revenue targets

Ideal Experience:

- 0-3 year of experience in research, business development, relationship management and lead generation

- Great oral and written English communication skills

- Willing to learn and understand the nuances of various channels- operating models and create customized sales and service models.

- Is a strong people's person, one that thrives on navigating complex organizations and building relationships both within the organization and externally

- Can tell a great story, communicates clearly and can capture the interest and attention of 2, 20 or 200 people naturally

- Is entrepreneurial, professionally aggressive, a hustler and excited about the opportunity to creatively build effective, non-traditional sales channels in a nascent product category

- Is passionate about his/her work and driven by Greenlight's social mission of bringing innovative,renewable energy and life-enhancing products to off-grid homes across Asia.

- Is willing to spend 50% of his/her time on the road interacting with prospective partners
