Job Description: Business Development Associate (NGO)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and driven Business Development Associate to join our non-governmental organization (NGO) and play a pivotal role in expanding our impact and reach. As a Business Development Associate, you will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, and nurturing strategic partnerships, collaborations, and funding opportunities to support the growth and sustainability of our organization's mission. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects, engage with stakeholders, and drive positive change within our community.

Responsibilities:

1. Partnership Identification and Cultivation:

- Research and identify potential partners, sponsors, and collaborators aligned with the organization's goals and values.

- Develop and maintain a pipeline of partnership prospects, including corporations, foundations, government agencies, and other NGOs.

- Initiate contact with potential partners, and cultivate relationships through effective communication and engagement.

2. Proposal Development and Grant Writing:

- Collaborate with program managers and other team members to develop compelling grant proposals and partnership pitches.

- Write and edit grant applications, ensuring accurate representation of the organization's initiatives, impact, and financial needs.

- Maintain a repository of proposal templates, case studies, and relevant documentation for future reference.

3. Networking and Relationship Building:

- Attend relevant industry events, conferences, and networking sessions to represent the organization and expand its network.

- Build and maintain relationships with existing partners and stakeholders, fostering long-term collaborations.

4. Financial Resource Mobilization:

- Identify and pursue diverse funding opportunities, including grants, sponsorships, individual donations, and crowdfunding campaigns.

- Collaborate with the finance team to develop budgets aligned with project proposals and funding applications.

5. Data Tracking and Reporting:

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of partnership interactions, proposals, and funding applications using appropriate tools.

- Generate regular reports to assess the success of partnership development efforts and funding outcomes.

6. Strategic Planning and Research:

- Contribute to the organization's strategic planning by providing insights into potential growth areas, emerging trends, and funding landscapes.

- Conduct research on industry best practices and innovative approaches to partnership development and resource mobilization.

7. Collaboration and Communication:

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including communications, programs, and operations, to ensure alignment in messaging and goals.

- Communicate effectively with partners, stakeholders, and internal teams to convey the organization's mission and impact.

Qualifications & Requirement:

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Nonprofit Management, Marketing, International Relations, or a related field (Master's degree is a plus).

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to craft compelling proposals and presentations.

- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.

- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and CRM software.

- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

- Passion for the organization's mission and a strong commitment to making a positive impact in the community.
