The Employer

Our client is tech media startup that is working towards filling the demand for quality content in the social and digital media space through innovative visual storytelling.

The Job

With a passion for video storytelling, you will lead a team in shaping experimental and innovative news output approaches for digital and social media audiences.

You will be responsible for :

- Managing a team of deputy news editors to select and prioritise output for existing viewers and gaining new subscribers.

- Monitoring and ensuring story output with an eye on ensuring audience connect and satisfaction.

- Bringing a collaborative spirit and ability to develop and shape approaches to coverage.

- Analysing data and crystallising requirements to strengthen platform output.

- Designing innovative and unique solutions to optimise routine news coverage.

- Monitoring and using multimedia, nonlinear and alternative storytelling strategies to widen readership base.

- Ensuring optimal workflows and output.

- Coordinating with graphics, stingers, maps, etc to ensure news presentation attractiveness for new readers and sustain existing ones

The Profile

- You have a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism or equivalent.

- You have at least 12 years of solid experience as a news journalist, with 5 years of directly supervising and managing a team.

- You have proven newshound, with experience in telling al manner of stories

- You have experience in multi-platforms - including print, broadcast and especially digital video

- You have a wide analytical framework but not limited to politics, culture, business, sports, films etc

- You have a track record of setting news agenda and provoking debate.

- You are able to build high-performing teams

- You are a strong relationship builder and network.
