Job Purpose:

- The City Head has the primary role of leading the sales department, overseeing activities of the junior and senior professionals and monitoring performance as a whole.

- The role of city head is a data-driven role that requires commercial acumen and a deep understanding of the consumer base, the competitive market, and an ability to analyze sales department performance.

REPORTING:

Direct superiors: Supply Head

JOB SPECIFICATION :

- External: Vendors, Customers, etc.

Key Responsibilities & Key Performance Indicators : 

Business Responsibility :

- The very first role of the ASM is to provide leadership over the sales department.

- He will be in charge of developing weekly/monthly/annual and seasonal sales targets for the department, examining growth opportunities, enabling sales improvements, product mix development, and taking responsibility for the department's performance against targets.

- Manages the departmental calendar in regard to trading priorities inclusive of launches, promotions, exclusives, and campaign activities for the purpose of maximizing sales opportunities.

- Establishing and overseeing the adoption of departmental vision and values, which forms part of the work culture.

- He would be responsible for sustaining and growing the city's revenues with P&L responsibilities.

Organization, Planning and Controlling of all Business Operations.

- He also performs other duties as he deems necessary for the execution of his duties and duties as assigned by the Director of Sales, the Chief Sales Officer, or the Employer.

- Building new business partners to expand product reach in the market and coordinating with dealers to assist them to promote a product.

Process Responsibility : 

- Implementing sales strategies that further the department's agenda and drives enhanced revenue generation for the business.

- Delivers an optimized market mix relative to the core target consumers and identifies the roadmap that will lead to achievement of the department's goals as well as the overall goals of the business.

- Along with the senior sales management, creates and implements sales action plans that incorporate key actions that work to set KPI's for the business.

- Analyses of sales performance for the purpose of reporting sales strategy successes, weaknesses, and opportunities to senior sales management.

- Identifies areas of improvement in sales strategies and with a view of establishing actionable insights for the improving of sales and business profits.

- He also monitors and observes the brand and makes forecasts, identifying new trends ahead of the curve, hence, offering the business a competitive advantage and keeping it ahead of its competition in the market.

- Should builds strong relationships with the external partners and dealers and regularly interacts with them by attending sales workshops, seminars and hosting events, hosting sales events for the business's product, playing an active role in industry organizations and so forth.

- Establishing strategic alliances / tie-ups with financially strong and reliable channel partners; implementing effective strategies to maximize sales and achieve revenue & collection targets

- Managing demand forecasting & inventory; optimizing inventory level with channel partners to ensure timely deliveries to customers

People Responsibility : 

- Overall monitoring of sales operation control and support to the day-to-day sales activities.

- Segregating the principle targets to the particular team members on monthly basis.

- Review all team sales performance on monthly basis.

- Traveling throughout an assigned City to train and guide company Sales managers and Representatives.

- Motivating Sales Managers and Representatives to achieve sales quotas and evaluating their performance based on their ability or inability to achieve sales quotas.

- Identify and take corrective action for performance improvement.

Competencies :

Functional : 

- Minimum 10 years, relevant experience as an Area Sales manager or sales profession.

- Need someone who has team handling experience.

- Field sales experience is mandatory

- Good understanding of business objective, business environment and related process.

- Channel Development and Management

- Excellent analytical and communication skills.

- Strong organizational and leadership skills.

- Exceptional Customer service skills.

Behavioural : 

- Ability to do multi - task, prioritize work and meet tight schedules.

- Ability to develop sales strategies and use performance KPIs.

- Ability to work effectively and to get the work done at personal level.
