Category Manager - B2B eCommerce Platform - FMCG/Telecom (1-5 yrs)

Category Management is core to driving business via Seller and Buyers. This team is responsible for the business growth of Udaan and our seller and buyer partners. The team drives product adoption and evolution to ensure company becomes relevant and the obvious choice for trade to all businesses in that category. In this role you will be the face of company to all our sellers and buyers.

What will you need?

- A Bachelor degree in engineering, economics or similar field with MBA in General Management- from Tier 1 Colleges.

- 1-5 years of experience in Business Development in FMCG or Telecom Industry is mandatory.

- A demonstrated record of leading team and hiring talent

- Excellent data analysis, data interpretation and first party problem solving approach

- Ability to take initiative in a constantly changing work environment and a generalist do-what- it takes mind-set

- A demonstrated record of positively owning and leading initiatives and continuous process improvement mind-set

What will you do?

- Launch a new category from scratch - conduct market research; reach out to existing business and understand the dynamics of the category

- Plan selection through market visits by understanding buyers insights, seasonality changes and prevalent sales and marketing strategies

- Finalizing right mix of suppliers to meet sales demand with periodic review on seller performance and growth and driving vendor relations

- Engage sellers to ensure they drive necessary investments in their business with Udaan for enhancing category growth

- Drive visual merchandising efforts for the category around events, festivals etc

- Develop monthly marketing calendar & manage various activations for category development like promoters activity, sampling, mega displays, flyers, and newspaper ads, various seasonal and festive events in line with same.

- Continuously assess business performance by maintaining tracker to analyze GMV, sales achievement for events, promotions and product launches.

- End to end ownership of sellers- business ensuring good fill rates, in-stock rates, vendor reconciliations, customer escalations and other operational issues.

- Shall involve frequent travel to places within India

- Kannada Language proficiency is mandatory.
