Business Development Role - Outreach - Translational Research Centre (6-10 yrs)

About Translational Research Centre (TRC) :

- TRC has been setup at IIT Bombay to address some of the critical challenges that are posed in the deep-tech area. The TRC is expected to strongly support the existing innovation ecosystem and also play a pivotal role in maturing the fountain of ideas emanating from academic research, to result in ripe technologies towards commercialization.

- The aim is create an ambience that will provide infrastructural support and enable the maturation of early-stage breakthrough innovations towards creating societal and industry impact.

Job Purpose :

- Ensure a systematic reach-out to existing/prospective donors, cultivate and develop long-term relationships and create opportunities to elicit support in research projects and funds for the Centre.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Understand the on-going research work/areas of innovations and powerfully showcase the Centre at IIT Bombay leadership in cutting edge research & innovation work in the field to existing/ prospective donors to elicit support for partnerships.

2. Continuous engagement with research/innovators in IITB and outside to identify potential ideas for funding.

3. Continuous engagement with corporates to position sponsorships for projects, research work, scholarships etc. as philanthropic and goodwill opportunities.

4. Analyze the philanthropic interests and priorities of various corporate houses and align them with appropriate fund-raise opportunities available at the Centre.

5. Proactively identify, engage and build strategic relationships with corporate houses through purposeful engagements.

6. Engage deeply with internal key stakeholders in the system to fully understand the strategic priorities and research focus and co-create new long-term avenues for partnerships

7. Analyze and mine market trends, information and data to identify avenues for fund-raise opportunities.

8. Facilitate in networking events and industry forums to position of the Centre and leverage them for partnership opportunities.

Desired Profile:

1. 6-10 years' experience in building and growing relationships for growth/development

2. Excellent communication & relationship building skills

3. Should be curious to learn more and able to collaborate.

General information :

- The position is contractual for a period of 1 year but renewable as per Institute's guidelines and tenable only for the duration of the project.


- The selection committee may offer lower or higher designation and lower or higher salary depending upon the experience and performance of the candidate in the interview.
