Job Description :
- As the Business Unit Head, you will be responsible for leading and managing a business unit.
- Charting the Course : Draw up an adventurous yet safe strategy that aligns with the objectives of our company and satisfies the needs of our customers.
- Assembling the Right Crew : Form a dynamic and capable team, fostering a cooperative and supportive work environment.
- Scouting the Terrain : Keep an eye on industry trends, competitor strategies and customer preferences to inform your team& direction and strategy.
- Embarking on the Journey : Work collaboratively with marketing and sales to create compelling promotional strategies.
- Continuously monitor the progress of your journey, making necessary adjustments.
- Ensuring a Safe Voyage : Take care of your category& financial health, overseeing budgets, and tracking revenue and expenses.
- Like any good expedition leader, ensure you have resources for the journey and the health of the expedition is not compromised.
- Sharp analytical mind, comfortable with navigating the sea of market data and financial information.
- Lead and motivate your team with the same determination and positive spirit Shackleton himself would have shown.
Preferred candidate profile :
- At least a bachelor's degree in the Map Making of Modern Business (Business, Marketing, or a related field). Master's Degree or MBA preferred.
- A seasoned explorer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in product or category management (mandatory).
- Previous expeditions in the publishing industry are a strong plus.
- Proven experience in managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle, akin to leading a successful expedition from start to finish.
- Keen understanding of the educational publishing landscape and the specific terrains (needs) of the assigned category.
- Strong leadership qualities that inspire and unite teams, with excellent communication skills that help convey the vision and direction.
- Sharp analytical mind, comfortable with navigating the sea of market data and financial information.
