Associate Director - Category Marketing & Demand Planning - Large Appliances Business (8-10 yrs)

This role will lead Category marketing, Demand planning, In-stock planning and Operations management for Large Appliances business.

Category Marketing lead will be in charge of the Go To Market for new product / brand launches in TV & Appliances category. This role entails working closely with the marketing communications team to develop the assets for all the relevant communication media for launch and sustenance campaign. Responsibilities include bringing new customers to the category, planning and developing effective marketing communication campaigns for category growth, new launches and sustenance. This role should understand the whys behind the sales of different brands and price segments and build on the same to give the right messaging across all touch points customized by brand models.

- This would also involve working with in-house / external designers to produce materials of visual impact and within brand guidelines. The lead would also be expected to understand how digital marketing domains work for Large category and prepare the roadmap for digital marketing for the category basis this.

- The Planning lead will play a pivotal role in enabling business growth through selection availability management and drive profitability and working capital objectives through efficient operations management. This role requires a deep understanding of the business, estimate demand and build operations plan required to scale the business efficiently.

- As demand planning lead, this person would be responsible for understanding the market landscape, key demand drivers and seasonality to project the demand plan for categories housed under Large Appliances business.

- As supply chain inventory planner, responsibilities include capacity planning, in-stock management and fill-rate management. The planner ensures the right processes in place to have adequate supply of product to service customer needs while minimizing working inventory investment by assessing demand activity. The planner will reflect demand changes in our planning systems to ensure high accuracy of forecast needs and ensure accuracy in inventory records, item usage history, and forecasting files.

- Operations management scope covers managing POs generation, slotting and fulfillment and managing trade-offs between categories to achieve the business objectives on Instock and working capital. This involves working with brands to set up processes to improve fill rate and lead time and reduce variability in sourcing supply chain. This would also entail warehouse health management to drive high utilization of healthy inventory while liquidating / returning unhealthy / return inventory.

Scope of Duties and Responsibilities :

- Assess market trends and seasonality to project demand shifts by category

- Work closely with categories to understand how list for growth and translate this to demand plan

- Problem solving to bridge gap between top down guidance on demand and bottom up category plan

- Responsible for end-to-end planning of inventory from purchase requisition to customer invoice

- Develop production and inventory management plans to support projects and promotions

- Facilitate meetings with sales teams to valid forecasts over and above core business

- Work closely with internal teams - inventory planning, warehouse, central procurement team, eKart, FSE

- Manage brand relationships on operations and drive continuous improvement in ops metrics

- Conduct financial risk assessments on above

- Support internal customer service inquiries

- Engage with supply chain teams of brands to improve fill rates

- Identify current and potential product shortages, develop and execute recovery, advise interested parties of status and recovery plans

- Constant interaction with sales and assessment of demand requirements. Reflect changes in SKU level forecasts.

- Coordinate SKU level unit forecasts with agreed to Product Category revenue expectations.

- Achieve consensus on operating plans and inventory goals.

- Provide reports and requested information to management as needed.

- Develop systems and procedures required to meet service and inventory turn objectives.

Requirements :

Desired background : 

- Educational background - MBA from Tier 1 B-School with 8+ yrs experience in Sales & Marketing, Sales & Operations Planning or Strategy & Operations consulting roles

- Ability to build and lead a team of planning managers / analysts

- Knowledge of Retail, consumer goods industry is a plus

- Good understanding of Category Marketing, Demand Planning and Supply Chain Metrics

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to work seamlessly with the category management team

- Ability to effectively communicate and influence across all levels of the organization
