Assistant Buyer - Garments (2-4 yrs)

1. Garments


A. Planning for the season

Option Plan Closure

- Assisting Buying Manager in closure of the option plan for every season after analyzing past sales performance of the category, competitive analysis for the season and trend forecasts.

Range Architecture

- Preparation of the range architecture for the upcoming season after identifying past best sellers and current/upcoming trends and sharing the same with the design department.

Buy Budget Closure

- Assisting Buying Manager in closure of buying budgets for the designated category and ensuring the buying budget is being consumed efficiently.

B. Design and Product Development

Trend Inputs

- Provide product definition to the design department which includes fabrics and silhouettes done in the previous seasons so that they can incorporate the same before their inspiration starts.

- Sharing best selling silhouettes which has worked well already for KAZO so that they can have the versions of the same.

Fabric & Trim Selection

- Review and align on fabric and trim board with the design team keeping in mind the trend and commercial aspect. Focusing on the fabrics which are high on perceptive value and low on cost so that we can achieve the desired multiples.

C. Buying Process

Product Selection

- Reviewing the products of the designated category in the design presentation and selecting the same keeping in mind the cost of the garment and aligning the same with the option plan.

- Ensure the outcome of the design presentation is communicated to all related functional teams for further working on the same day.

- Handing over the selected garments for costing to PD department which includes CAD and SMV. Also asking the PD dept. to proceed the counter development of the same.

Buy Plan v/s Actual

- Vetting cost sheets provided by PD merchant before the design presentation and preparing presentations for all the garments belonging to the category and ensure costing is negotiated to achieve maximization of margins for all the options.

- Buy options against the plan of each price point and use the buy budget efficiently keeping in mind the average depth as per the Option plan for the particular season.

- Drafting the buy sheet with depth, range classification, fabric details and buying summary before the buying meeting and updating and revising the same in case of any changes.

- Closure of the buying meeting with required changes in depths/ MRPs if any.

- To ensure that all the timelines are adhered as per Calendar

Fabric & Trim Orders

- Calculate bulk fabric and China trim requirement for the range after the buying meeting and share in the agreed format with the sourcing team.

Buy Handover

- Share the final buy sheet with the retail merchandising team with all the rationales in place for retail item card creation and PO generation.

- Sign off all POs with planned quantity, MRP and other details.

- Ensure signed off proto for counter and PP sample development is handed over.

- Approve the PP sample for final production.

D. Launches & Sell Thrus

- Share launch priority story wise with the Planning Team to ensure the same is dispatched together.

- Ensure timely launches as per calendar.

- Weekly review of sell-thru for all categories.

- Give inputs to the retail merchandising team for shuffling of stock as per the range performance to push up sales.

- Plan repeat orders/ color ways for best-selling styles. Sharing the best selling bodies of the current season with the design team so that they can create versions of the same.

- Offline Launches - Product Training- Educate and train the front end staff in seasonal refreshers about each option of the category range. Ensure product availability for the same.

- VM Inputs- Share story details with the team giving them inputs on the products that must be highlighted in stores as

per the buy.

- Online Launches- Data Import Sheets- Ensure all information is compiled in the data import sheet to be shared with the E-Com Team.

- E-Com Shoot- Ensure all garments are made available and inputs are given in terms of coordinates and ensembles are shared for E-Commerce shoot for kazo.com and other online channel partners.

- Selection of the garments for the Lifestyle shoots in coordination with design and marketing team.

- Day to day interaction with stores for their feedback and to direct them for the weekly highlights with respect to the poor selling styles.

E. Season & Market Analysis

- Competition and market analysis and tracing out gaps in the current collection and market trends.

- Store visit every week to understand customer behavior and to analyze why a particular product is not doing well. Interaction with the front end staff to get their valuable feedback

F. Selling and Discount Strategy

- Analyzing category sales at MRP and Product level

- Weekly sales analysis as per value generation at different price points

- Modulation of strategies for the growth of the respective category

- Selecting styles to be put on Wonder weekend sale

- Planning discount strategy for EOSS on the basis of past record of the product, aggressive discounting for the liquidation of the product
