Area Sales Manager - Modern Trade - FMCG (1-2 yrs)

The key responsibilities for this role would include :

- Leading business

- Key account and stakeholder management

- Establish productive, win-win relationships with category, supply chain, commercial teams of regional and national chains across retail, cash & carry, pharma and beauty formats.

- Distributor management - establishing terms of business, periodic performance evaluation, setting expectations on fill rates, service levels, ROI etc.

- Develop monthly, quarterly, yearly business plans and activation calendar with chains at regional level in collaboration with KAM and TMM team.

- Explore opportunities/ additional events for collaboration with key accounts.

- Review business performance monthly and ensure hygiene on fill rates and commercials.

- Create and execute growth plans

- Analyse internal and external data sets to make robust growth plans.

- Identify trends from the data, quantify - sources of growth, correlate business growth with market intelligence and make SMART plans

- Utilize trade marketing inputs effectively for highest sales returns

- Build and lead a strong and capable team

- Coach and inspire front line sales team to execute market plans, implement growth agenda, achieve stretch goals and drive best-in-class in-store execution

- Ensure effective communication of objectives through Area review meets

- Build a culture of recognition and engagement in the team

- Build robust development plans for the team, based on each individual's competency gaps and growth aspirations.

- Identify and differentiate talent basis performance and potential.

- Build team capability to drive process initiatives like deployment and usage of Hand Held Terminals.

- Train the sales team to further train their teams of field associates comprising of sales representatives, promoters and merchandizers on driving process and value objectives.

Flawless Execution :

- Manage stock level planning, and sales forecast for the area at a monthly level.

- Ensure on-ground execution of monthly promotion calendar, hired assets in store.

- Order fulfilment, delivering healthy fill rates to customers, ensuring listed assortment presence in stores.

- Develop understanding and successfully roll out pilots and projects to improve key systems and processes associated with distribution.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE :

- Post Graduate degree (MBA) in Sales & marketing from a premier B-school (full time)

- Total experience in the range of 1 to 2 years as ASM in FMCG sector or equivalent managerial experience in organized retail sector. Exposure to Modern Trade/ organized retail channel is a must.

- The incumbent should have led a team, be strong on execution and acquired a well-developed ability in influencing senior business leaders.
