Area Sales Manager - Edible Oil (7-12 yrs)

Responsible for set up of team and distribution network in Lucknow nearby Districts and subsequently for driving and managing sales & distribution in the state/area.


- Effective implementation of sales strategy as per business imperatives. 


- Responsible for managing the product portfolio; ensuring adequate focus on Edible Oils Category


- Expansion of the product & customer base.

Key Responsibilities :

Strategic :

- Develops Blueprint for:

- Channel partner set up and market launch

- Team set up and manpower deployment

- Market prioritization

- Analyses competitor performance for identifying new opportunities and executing plans for strategic sales initiatives

- Provides inputs on both ATL and BTL activities and pricing strategy keeping in mind competition activity

Financial and Profit Center

- Assists Cluster Head in developing annual plan & budget for the Area

Operational : 

- Translates the overall sales targets to SO level and distributor level targets

- Ensures execution of sales strategy through review of (KPIs)

- Conducts the daily, weekly and monthly reviews as per the review mechanism design and ensures that the reporting team follows the same.

- Implements sales processes created to drive operations including distributor selection/ separation, market working, claims handling, month planning, capturing competition data and customer feedback, amongst others

- Monitors manpower deployment and takes action where productivity is low.

- Drives appointment of channel partners for Client and strives to make them viable

- Ensures smooth and effective rollout of trade discounts, promotions and schemes

- Drives accurate demand forecasting across products

- Ensures processes around IT enablement/systems are followed in his area

People :

- Recruits and builds the right team to deliver performance objectives

- Drives a culture of performance amongst subordinates - sets goals, reviews and manages performance, counsels and provides feedback on performance so as to ensure a motivated and committed team

- Develops the capabilities of team members to take on higher responsibilities while performing the given responsibilities at various levels within the function

- Ensures adequate training of sales force to be able to handle market dynamics and meet the requirements of the role
