Area Sales Manager - Construction (2-3 yrs)
Sales and Distribution Management:
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve sales targets and revenue objectives within the assigned area.
- Identify and onboard new retailers and wholesalers to expand our distribution network.
- Maintain positive business relationships with existing distributors and customers, ensuring their satisfaction with our products and services.
Market Expansion and Penetration:
- Conduct market research/audit to identify potential growth areas, customer needs, and competitor activities.
- Introduce our products to new markets and develop strategies to increase market penetration.
Sales and Inventory Reporting:
- Monitor product sales performance and inventory levels at distribution points.
- Prepare and submit regular sales reports, inventory status reports, and market feedback to the sales manager.
Order Management:
- Process customer orders accurately and in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with the logistics and warehouse team to ensure timely product delivery.
Training and Support:
- Provide training and support to retailers and distributors to enhance their product knowledge and sales capabilities.
- Address any product-related concerns and provide prompt solutions.
Sales Targets and Performance:
- Set individual sales targets for retailers and wholesalers within the area and monitor their performance.
- Take necessary actions to achieve sales targets and address any underperforming accounts.
Market Intelligence:
- Stay informed about industry trends, customer preferences, and competitive activities in the distribution business.
- Use market intelligence to adapt sales strategies and stay ahead in the market.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. A diploma with relevant experience will also be considered.
- Proven experience of around 5 years in sales and distribution, preferably in the distribution business.
- Strong understanding of distribution channels and experience managing retailers and wholesalers.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to build strong relationships with clients and partners.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Results-oriented with a track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Proficiency in using basic computer applications and sales reporting tools.
- Ability to travel frequently for business purposes.
