Alpha Alternatives - Head - Direct Marketing (12-18 yrs)

We are looking for a pan India Head of Direct Sales & Marketing of the company's consumer products. The Direct Marketing business of the company is expected to grow 4 to 5 times its current revenues and people strength in the next four years. The person will be accountable for the overall Direct Marketing Organization of the Company and report directly to the Head of Channels as well as have a dotted line reporting into the CEO. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in recruiting and managing a team of 500+ sales personnel.

A jewelry retail and manufacturing company based out of Hyderabad with an in-house manufacturing unit, 5 boutiques across Telangana, and presence in USA, UAE and South East Asia, is seeking to augment its senior management team. The company has been growing aggressively and plans to quadruple its revenues and people strength by expanding its presence pan India through large format stores and other innovative channels.

About Alpha Alternatives :

We are an asset management company with interest in private equity & credit, public equities and commodities. As part of our private equity effort, we work closely with our Portfolio companies in their business strategy formulation and execution efforts. We are looking for an executive level candidate to head the HR function of one of our portfolio companies.

Key responsibilities for the role are as follows :

1) Be responsible for revenues and costs of the Direct Marketing Channel for the company. This will involve leading a team of over 500 sales staff across offices in several states who will interface directly with customers in their respective geographies.

2) Co-ordinate with state, regional and city teams regularly and address sales strategies, staffing issues, inventory management, growth plans and specific customer issues.

3) Agree on and execute the aggressive state-wise and pan India roll-out plans for the Direct Marketing business

4) Be responsible for enhancing agreed efficiencies in the business.

5) Recruit/ manage supervisory staff to attend to growing regional demand.

6) Create and monitor the Code of Conduct for sales staff.

7) Create campaigns and incentive schemes to motivate and improve overall sales

8) Co-ordinate with the Head of exhibitions teams to ensure smooth coordination of Direct marketing and exhibition teams in current and new target markets.

9) Help scope out and identify new target markets through mapping of the demographics, competitive landscape and other parameters related to such regions

10) Identify significant moves by competitors and devise plans to tackle the same.

As a successful candidate you should have :

- 10-15 years of sales and marketing experience with at least 3 years of Business Head experience

- At least 5 years experience in Direct Marketing

- Jewelry, FMCG or other high value consumer/ retail experience will be preferred

- Critical business thinking and strong presentation skills

- Be comfortable with travelling 6 to 8 days in a month.
