Opening for an Account Manager for a Fortune 500 American e-commerce Company

New Internal Job Title: Account Manager

Reports To: Senior Director - Marketplace

Responsibility: 


- Establishing new and existing seller relationships for marketplace;

- Drives exponential growth of owned sellers through assortment, pricing, marketing, positive seller KPIs.

- Works with Online Merchants on availability of new and/ or tier 1 brands, special priced items, and new product categories.

Job Summary : 


- The Account Manager (AM) is responsible for achieving revenue and commission targets for their owned marketplace sellers and overall total marketplace performance. In addition to growing established accounts and new BD accounts for Marketplace, the AM is charged with monitoring their owned seller's operational performance.

- The AM is a high performing sales driver responsible for forging strong partner relations and collaborating with marketing and online merchants on strategies to achieve revenue goals.

- This position will monitor and develop action plans to address competitor strategies/positioning, define service offerings and work with the merchants on promotional strategies.

- Incumbent will have overall accountability for assortment, pricing and KPIs for their owned sellers on the Co's Marketplace platform.

- AM will establish and maintain cross functional communication/partnership to ensure consideration for all affected business aspects - operational and support departments.

Education Requirements : Bachelor's Level Degree

Years of Related Experience : 5-10 Years

Night Work Hours : 5.30 PM IST to 2.30 AM IST as dealing with the Top 100 Online American merchants majorly.

Travel Requirements : None

Required Skills :

- Proven success in business development from lead generation to closing sales

- Excellent verbal communication skills, ability to influence without authority

- Expert interpersonal skills and presentation skills.

- Ability to develop creative and innovative marketing and sales strategies, programs and approaches to the marketplace

- Strong financial acumen and ability to understand P&L drivers for both the Parent Company and potential partners

- Keen organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to multi task and prioritize well in a fast paced, dynamic work environment

Preferred Skills :

- Proven success in account management for an online marketplace

Job Duties/Responsibilities :

- Drive sales of owned sellers in partnership with merchants and marketing.

- Drive sales by ensuring seller is working reports: Buy Box, Removed Items, Late Ship, Cancellation/ Returns, MSO issues.

- Drive seller competitiveness by working to get aggressive pricing, having sellers opt into Sears promotional deals, ensuring the full assortment is online.

- Ensure site is easily shopped by working with sellers on correct categorization, excellent content and attributes updated.

- Planning revenue targets and ensuring on track achievement with a focus on margin protection.

- Maintain and leverage knowledge and insight of market requirements and competitors.

- Works with the online leadership to develop commission plans and initiatives that drive volume growth, profitability and overall sales productivity year after year.

- Effectively assess client needs in order to recommend high value solutions linked to business drivers, enhancing client loyalty, and become the authority on client's business, their competitors and related industry news and trends.

- Assess marketplace and develop new business opportunities and strategies to drive growth.

- Provide thought leadership by bringing new and innovative ideas and technologies to assist dealers in attaining their business objectives.

- Provide expert advice about products and services to customers and business partners.

- Analyze pertinent business statistics and information critical to maximizing revenue growth profit potential and heightening customer service levels

- Watch for fast trending items and ensure we engage sellers to provide inventory.
